The 15th Annual Trades & Technology Expo
Medicine Hat College : Tues. April 28, 2020

Youth Careers in partnership with the Medicine Hat College Trades and Sciences Departments, and with funding from the Ministry of Labour, aims to provide high school students and the general public with the opportunity to experience trades and technology related careers, and network with local participating organizations. Local organizations and Medicine Hat College Trades and Sciences programs will have interactive displays and/or information booths. Individuals can also tour through the competition areas for the SE Alberta Regional Skills Competition, which is held at the College on the same day.

The Trades and Technology Expo is specifically designed to generate career awareness to students in grades 7-12 with specific emphasis on the Trades.  This event is supported by the various Trade and Technology departments in Medicine Hat College as well as Industry partners and representatives.

These participants generate unique “hands-on activities” for over 1000 visiting youth.

South East Alberta Junior and Senior high school teachers are invited to bring their students to the 2020 Trades & Technology Expo on Tuesday April 28th 2020 at the Medicine Hat College.

How Local Organizations Can Help

In addition to exposing students and the general public to careers in the trades and technology, the Regional Skills Competition and the Trades & Technology Expo also allow local organizations to highlight career opportunities in the trades and technologies sectors to ensure a sustainable workforce and business activity in our region.

You can help us make these events a success in the following ways:
  • Share your knowledge and expertise and set up a FREE interactive display or information booth.
  • Sponsor events with a monetary donation – a general donation or sponsorship of a competition area.
  • Volunteer to be a judge in any of the Skills Competition areas.
  • Donate materials and supplies for the Skills Competition areas.
